Past Spring Tulips

Hoping to see some tulips blooming soon. This year Ottawa’s 61st Tulip festival will begin on May 3rd through to May 20. The annual springtime celebration commemorates the legacy of tulips given to Canada by the Dutch government in recognition of and gratitude for Canada’s role in the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War, and for providing safe harbour to the Dutch Royal Family during wartime. Here are some photos of past years taken along the Rideau Canal or at the Beechwood Cemetery. http://tulipfestival.ca
