Magnolia Rose

The warm weather is finally here! Last night we went for a walk in the Arboretum on the Central Experiment Farm in Ottawa. The magnolia trees are blooming. It was too dark so I didn’t take any pictures but I hope to go back soon. Magnolia flowers are among the first to burst into bloom in the spring. They evoke the warm south and have a lovely fragrance. They are also part of The Farm’s heritage, with the first magnolia having been planted in 1897. http://www.friendsofthefarm.ca/magnolias.htm

This photo was taken last spring.
