Car Show on Sparks St.

After walking the Rideau Canal to Parliament Hill, we strolled down Sparks Street which was converted into an outdoor pedestrian street in 1966. There were a number of older model trucks and cars on display. I took these pictures hand held in low light necessitating a high ISO. The D600 and 50 mm lens handled it very well. I read recently that technology has gotten so good that one should not worry about using a high ISO.

The young woman was viewing the cars with her boyfriend and made a wonderful candid model. I took her picture quickly when she posed for her boyfriend on the spitfire and again when she was viewing the Chevy. Taking pictures of the high performance engine was a challenge, the natural light that evening was low and even worse under the hood. So I opened up as much as I could and hoped for the best. Luckily this kind of picture takes sharpening very well.
