Flowers Along the Rideau Canal

Ottawa is a city full of flowers. After the Tulip Festival in the Spring, many of the beds are filled with colourful annuals. These lovely petunias were outside the National Arts Centre on the Rideau Canal.

  1. I really enjoy the contrasts in textures and degree of focus. There is a nice “visual conversation” happening between the colorful petunia trumpets on the left and the railings along the canal on the right. It is almost as if the petunias are giving a performance for an audience.
