A Collection of Summer Flowers

My garden is full of perennials and my rule is survival of the fittest. Only the strongest and most aggressive perennials survive me. My neighbour, however, loves potted and hanging plants which require much work and attention. Here is a sample of some of the flowers in her garden.   2. I sure needed these beautiful colors on the gray and dreary day that we are having here. Can you tell me what that fourth (last) plant is? The one that is such a brilliant red-violet with the two white flowers. Is that an outdoor plant? It looks really tropical.
