Christmas in my Neighbourhood

It’s going to be a white Christmas this year. I was outside up to my knees in snow taking pictures of the some of my neighbour’s Christmas decorations. Most were covered under a light dusting of snow which only added to the atmosphere of Christmas.

  1. beth one of the things I like most about your work is you really seem to take the extra time to compose you photos so they are clear of background clutter. Your use of depth of field to key in on the important parts of each of your photos is really striking. The two photos at the top of the ornaments are the best examples. The background of those shots are interesting but they do not detract from the ornaments

    1. We have another winter storm heading this way, which is usually a good time to ask myself why I still live here… so far there are no good answers. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for stopping by…wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

      1. hehe, beth! see what i mean?
        i dunno…we had freak weather when we were there…like -35C with windchill…yikes!
that really freaked me out….id had enough of cold damp weather in this…i decided within a week, that ontario was not the place for me!
saying that, ontario is very nice in the summer, maybe too hot at times…humidex and all that…we used to spend time at Algonquin park…really nice there…then again, i ve always been a mountain man…not many mountains on ontario (!)…so…BC had to be the logical choice…ever since we moved there…its the one place closest to paradise…for me anyways! all the best for xmas and the new year to u too, beth!
