A Little Fun Under Sir Wilfrid Laurier

These girls were having a little bit of fun under the watchful eye of Sir Wilflid Laurier. Joseph-Émile Brunet’s statue of Wilfrid Laurier is behind the East Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Laurier was Canada’s first francophone prime minister and is considered to have been a great statesmen. He passionately defended individual liberty, “Canada is free and freedom is its nationality”. Sir Wilfrid Laurier Day is observed each year on 20 November, his birth date.
